Verizon Wireless has signed a 61,000-square-foot lease for office space in Howard County's new Annapolis Junction Town Center development.
The tech giant will move into 10170 Junction Dr., a 100,000-square-foot office complex being developed by St. John Properties and Somerset Construction Co.
The four-story office building is located near the MARC train station in Savage.
"The presence of Verizon Wireless within Annapolis Junction Town Center will inject energy, create momentum and significantly impact the economic well-being of the surrounding area," said Richard Williamson, senior vice president of leasing and marketing at St. John, in a statement.
"Verizon Wireless is among the most recognizable corporate brands in the country and we expect this real estate decision to resonate among other businesses and organizations looking for a multi-functional environment to benefit its employees and vendors."
The suburban development has a residential component, the 416-unit multi-family Residences at Annapolis Junction, which opened last year. At present, the project has 5,420 square feet of retail space and a 700-vehicle parking garage. About 14,000 square feet of additional retail is also planned.
Matt Lenihan, assistant vice president of leasing for St. John Properties, brokered the deal for St. John and Somerset. Amy Perlman, David Fields and Alec Mitchell of CBRE represented Verizon Wireless.
